Ramadan 2024

Ramadan has finally arrived.  The month where the reward for good deeds are multiplied and sins are being wiped out is here.  However, this year our Ummah is in pain.  We hear the cries of our children in Palestine and it’s paralysing.  No matter how many times we complete the Quran, or whether we make it to every Taraweh, our Ummah still bleeds.

Ramadan is the month where in previous years, the Zionist Apartheid regime increase their attacks on civilians.  The massacres continue, the ICJ continue their investigation of Israel committing genocide, and so, we must continue.

We fast, but our brothers and sisters in Palestine, can’t open their fasts.  The Zionist regime is blocking the trucks that are ready to go into Gaza from Rafah.  These token air drops from the USA are like a drop of water in an ocean.  They are inadequate and will never feed all those who are in the brink of starving to death.

So we must continue our struggle.

We can’t rest just because we are fasting.

From the life of our Prophet SAW, we learn that the first battle in Islam was in Ramadan.  Our Prophet SAW and his companions didn’t turn away because they were fasting and it was Ramadan, they defended themselves because it’s a duty in Islam, and because of Ramadan.  They were outnumbered, they were seen as the weaker side, but that didn’t deter them.  They continued with their struggle and won the battle Alhamdulilah.

Despite the fact that we are fasting, we carry on the struggle.  Muslims are not quitters, we will continue until there is a free Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital.

It is not enough for us to simply keep them in our duas. Here some real things you can do for Palestine:

  1. Normalise boycotting in our communities: We have seen rising popular boycotts of Starbucks, Coca Cola and McDonalds, in Indonesia, Malaysia, Arab Gulf and Turkey. We should be calling for the same in our families and our communities. If not now, then when?
  2. Don’t buy Israeli blood-dates: Make sure your dates do not come from Israel or occupied Palestinian territories. Trust “Yaffa” and “Zaytoun” brands.
  3. Mobilise for the General Election: A General Election is certain this year. For 20 years, MPACUK has successfully mobilised the Muslim vote to kick Zionists out of parliament. Following our success in the Rochdale by-election last month, we are preparing for upcoming General Election. Register to vote (click here) and kick out any MPs that didn’t vote for a ceasefire.
  4. Donate to us this Ramadan and fund our Election Campaign:  www.muslimgiving.org/mpacuk

Together we can make a big difference.

The party of Allah never loses.  Join us at MPACUK and find out what you can do.

Ramadan Mubarak to you and your families from all at MPACUK.
