Fairytale of Amsterdam

Once upon a time in a pot smoking city, far, far away there was a football match between two football teams.

One of the team’s supporters came from other people’s land even further away.

Oddly, they were considered part of Europe because they were further away than other countries not considered part of Europe and racism definitely had nothing to do with that.

These supporters didn’t have any reputation for racism or violence and they definitely didn’t tear down any Palestinian flags, chant any genocidal or racist chants. So they definitely should have been part of the tournament. They were no hooligans.

They didn’t attack an Arab Taxi driver or threaten local journalists, instead, they spent the whole tournament singing hymns and helping little old ladies cross the street.

Then, some foreign looking types attacked those poor innocent fans and the attacks were worse than Kristallnacht because “Nazis”.

Luckily the mainstream media were there to provide an honest account of events and definitely reported the events in the correct chronological order and didn’t delete any of their reports for any lobby at all for the sake manipulation. None of their reputations suffered.

Then some some local politicians made supportive statements about those poor, innocent football fans and they didn’t tell any lies about the events. They didn’t devalue the Holocaust or invoke any other exaggerated comparisons for political purposes.

Happily, other politicians from even further away then spread those non-lies so even larger numbers of the public could hear what definitely, really, happened and they all used the same words again, again and again but they were definitely not orchestrated or one-sided.

Then the local police arrested the locals that, inexplicably, fought with those innocent football fans and all those arrests were valid.

Happily, the traumatised football supporters made it back to other people’s land and they definitely didn’t continue to chant racist, genocidal slogans because if any of them had done the local authorities would have taken a very dim view of racism.

And they all lived happily ever after (on other people’s land).
