Azhar Ali – Labour Running Scared in Rochdale

MPACUK have a long history of activism in the Rochdale constituency, ever since removing key Zionist Labour MP Laura Fitzsimons in 2005.

With a General Election on the cards for 2024, Rochdale and its Muslim constituents hold the power in their hands to decide who becomes their parliamentary representative. This month’s by-election is an opportunity for the people of Rochdale to register their protest vote against the Labour Party and its stance on supporting the genocide of the Palestinians.

The recent announcement that the Labour machine has withdrawn its support for their man in Rochdale, Azhar Ali came as a blindside. Labour didn’t pull their candidate due to his comments on Israel, they simply found an excuse not to contest a by-election that they knew they were going to lose. Azhar Ali is a die-hard Blairite, (who even now is being supported by ardent Zionists such as Louise Ellman) who championed the Islamophobic PREVENT agenda, was a director of the PREVENT funded Sufi Muslim Council set up solely to create a “state friendly” version of Islam and was also a key advisor to Tony Blair on counter-terrorism.

Previous Labour MPs have fallen foul of anti semitism charges and have not been left hung out to dry by party HQ. We’ve been on the ground for years in Rochdale and it’s as simple as this – Labour knew they were facing a massive backlash for not calling for an immediate ceasefire for the bloodletting in Palestine, for which they would pay the price at the polling booths.

With the media focusing on the outcome of the Rochdale by-election as a potential forecast of the national election, where Muslim constituents could potentially decide the outcome of 33 seats, Palestine is THE deciding issue.

Labour are running scared, they can no longer bank on the Muslim vote.

The local community of Rochdale have done a fantastic job down the years in standing up for Palestine. With Tony Lloyd’s passing, Labour lost an MP who was representative of his constituents with his Pro-Palestine stance.

The Muslim community have to realise their game changing potential to unseat pro-war, Zionist MPs. Other Muslim organisations who are talking the talk need to take practical action to back up their claims. If you want to know how to run an election campaign to unseat genocide enabling MPs, then get in touch.

Regardless of the fall-out in Rochdale, the MPACUK team will be on the ground and we look forward to meeting with you on your doorsteps. Remember to get out and vote against Labour on the 29th of February.
