ACTION ALERT: CONDEMN ISLAMOPHOBIC TELEGRAPH NEWSPAPER ARTICLE
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/contact-us/editorial-complaints/While the Israeli missiles rain down on the civilian population of Palestine, a different manner of war is being fought by the pro-zionist lobby, right here in the UK and that war is for the hearts and minds of those who are somehow undecided whether to support an apartheid, genocidal machine intent on wiping Palestine off the map or the civilians of Gaza and the West Bank who are being slaughtered in their thousands.
To manufacture consent for this, the zionist lobby have activated and are using all their channels to dehumanise Palestinians and build support for the ongoing slaughter.
On Sunday, October 29, 2023, The Telegraph, published an Anti-Muslim/Islamophobic news article propaganda piece in relation to the ongoing protests in support of the tragic loss of life of civilians in Gaza, the vast majority of who are children.
The article “British society will pay a terrible price for indulging extremism” authored by Nick Timothy, a former Downing Street Chief of Staff, is not only disingenuous in nature, but disseminates offensive content that harms community cohesion and in effect is incitement to hatred.
Videos that have emerged from the event clearly show that a multitude of concerned British citizens from various backgrounds came together in a display of solidarity with Palestinian civilians, motivated by the fundamental principles of humanity. It is essential to note that this protest was attended by not only Muslims but also by members of the Jewish faith, as well as Christians, Sikhs, Hindus and all other denominations.
The Conservative party have form with racist and openly Islamophobic views being aired on a consistent basis – since being called out by former Tory Chair Baroness Warsiand given Nick Timothys’ background – a senior fellow at the Policy Exchange who was front, centre and heavily involved in the lies told in the Trojan Horse affair, to attack Muslims in Birmingham.
We urgently call upon you to demand that The Telegraph terminates Nick Timothy contract, firing him with immediate effect and not allowing him any more column inches on all media owned and run by the Telegraph, do this by taking the following steps:
1. Compose a Letter: Write a concise but powerful letter to the editor of The Daily Telegraph, expressing your concerns about the Islamophobic content and demanding an apology and a retraction of the offensive article. Emphasize the diverse and inclusive nature of the protest.
2. Share on Social Media: Utilise your social media platforms to bring attention to this issue. Use the hashtag #SayNoToIslamophobia and share your letter or create a brief post, tagging The Telegraph to ensure your message is heard.
3. Complain to The Telegraph: via this link (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/contact-us/editorial-complaints/) expressing your disapproval of the article and insisting on responsible reporting that respects all communities. Include the fact that the protest was a multi-faith and multi-cultural event.
4. Encourage Others: Rally your friends, family, and colleagues to take similar actions. Strength in numbers can make a significant impact.
5. Please also complain to the press complaints body at: www.impressorg.com/standards/complaints/how-to-complain/
Nick Timothy is also a “Visiting Professor” at the University of Sheffield. Ensure that you also send your complaints to the University: mediateam@sheffield.ac.uk that they cannot platform an individual who holds such divisive views.
If we allow blatant hate mongers off the hook, other racist Islamophobes will be emboldened and the situation will get ugly. We have already had attacks on Muslims in the street and petrol cans with the words “IDF RULES” written on them being thrown at Mosques – such articles are contributing to this hostile environment. We need to curtail such irresponsible speech before such hatred on our streets against Muslims becomes normalised.
Please maintain a respectful and constructive tone in all your communications. Our goal is to educate and promote positive change, not perpetuate hostility.
Together, we can send a strong message that Islamophobia has no place in responsible journalism, and we demand better from our media outlets!
Let’s stand up against hate and discrimination.
