We will continue marching for Palestine until Palestine is free!
The recent Pro-Palestinian marches taking place across the world have once again been accused of showing support to Hamas. Whilst there is little to no evidence to support this, what this narrative does it creates a distraction from the real issues the Palestinians face.
The real issue is that people are marching in solidarity for the freedom of Palestine. The freedom for them not to live under 75 plus years of illegal occupation from Israel, aided and abetted and by our Government. The freedoms that we hold as sacrosanct and as the social contract we all adhere to – the freedom to choose how to live our lives, what to eat, what school to send our children to and to feel secure that nobody will drop bombs on our children while they sleep – these basics are universal and no one is more in need of them than the Palestinians living in the concentration camp of Gaza.
When Sunak went to Israel and shook hands with the Zionist oppressor, he, in the eyes of millions of British people, supported a man planning to carry out a genocide. Not only does the Zionist regime kill Palestinians, but this killing machine, which is fuelled by the West, kills anyone who stands in its way.
Have you heard of Rachel Corrie, a Jewish lady from America, run over by an Israeli bulldozer just because she stood in front of a Palestinian family’s house trying to protect it?
Tom Hurndall, a British citizen was targeted and shot dead by an Israeli sniper while trying to carry Palestinian children to safety.
Vast sections of both the Conservative and Labour Party have no shame in having blood on its hands. 3,000 children have been killed in Gaza in the last 22 days. The Former PM, David Cameron actually said that the siege and blockade on Gaza by the Israelis has turned Gaza into a prison camp. And this situation has deteriorated immeasurably over the last two weeks.
Amnesty International accuses Israel of being an Apartheid State, in other words treats people differently based on race and religion. Something that clearly goes against British values.
So I ask you, what is worse?
Shaking hands with a Leader of a Country that has been accused horrific war crimes, or marching in broad day light, shouting Free Palestine.
Keep on being the voice for the Palestinians, let’s do what we can to stop the ongoing Nakba.
Free Palestine.
