MPACUK Statement On Theresa May’s Resignation

Post placeholder image

After 2 years, 10 months, 3 weeks and 4 days, Theresa May will resign as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

In her time as the leader of our country, and as Home Secretary, she has overseen increased surveillance and alienation of the Muslim community of Britain.

Volunteers, like Tauqir Sharif, who dare to help victims of the weapons that Great Britain sells abroad are denied permission to come home; Muslims who dare to question our country’s support of rogue states like Israel are criminalised by PREVENT; Islamophobes like Boris Johnson and Zac Goldsmith are allowed to vie for leadership positions, with no consequence.

The Muslim community must be organised to ensure that the next leader of our country is more just than the last. MPACUK will be preparing to do the groundwork in the case of a general election – we encourage the community to download our app to best coordinate their efforts: https://mpacuk.org/mpacuk-projects/IMPACT/
