PRESS RELEASE: MPACUK denounce Theresa May’s refusal to condemn Donald Trump’s Muslim-ban policy
The Muslim Public Affairs Committee UK (MPACUK) denounce Theresa May’s refusal to condemn Donald Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the US.
On Wednesday 16th November at Prime Minister’s Questions, Theresa May was asked about how she will deal with Trump who has vowed to ban entry to the US for Muslims.
She replied by saying that she wants to ensure the dignity for British citizens but “it is up to the US what rules they put in place in terms of entry across their borders.”
Commenting, MPACUK spokesman Raza Nadim said:
“Theresa May’s inability to condemn Donald Trump’s xenophobic policy demonstrates how much disdain she has for Muslims.
“The Prime Minister should have had no hesitation in denouncing a policy that treats Muslims as a suspect community but her response shows why few trust her judgement on international relations, domestic policies and when she speaks about so-called ‘British Values’.”
