Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad criticism India over its recent escalation on Kashmir. Indian nationals reacted in disappointment via tweeting #BoycottMalaysia whilst stating that Kashmir has been “invaded and occupied”.

The number of tweets under #BoycottMalaysia reached to around 8000. Malaysia then started to react with #BoycottIndia defending Malaysia and Dr Mahathir, eventually trending top in the country yesterday.

Shafwan Shukor, in his tweet, said: “Wow #BoycottMalaysia trending! Hahaha. Impact Impact of Tun M’s address at the UN … asking India and Pakistan to negotiate (an amicable solution) on Kashmir and Jammu”.

Danian Mikhail stated: “Malaysians stand united. #BoycottIndia.

Nunakash1 stated: “Thanks Malaysia for standing against oppression. #SupportMalaysia #BoycottIndia.
