Republic Bharat is a Hindu Nationalist TV channel that has a notorious reputation for being the mouthpiece of the current BJP government and at the forefront of propagating Islamophobic rhetoric across India and the world. 

They have license to operate in numerous countries around the world including the UK.  

MPACUK has reported Republic Bharat on account of their constant scapegoating of Tablighi Jamaat over the Coronavirus pandemic throughout 2020 and calling for state violence and mass murder in Kashmir on air.  

MPACUK Spokesperson Imran Shah said: 

“The politics of Hindu nationalism is not just tied down to the genocidal politics that is being practiced in India. It has global reach and impacts Muslims and other minorities who are part of the South Asian Diaspora. 

Republic Bharat is a key example of platforms that are propagating Islamophobia to South Asian communities here in the West, specifically in the UK and US.  

We welcome the recent sanction of Republic Bharat by OFCOM, however, there is alot more hate that has been broadcasted and is unaccounted for. We hope OFCOM accounts for this and revokes their UK license.”
