ACTION ALERT! Demand your MP signs Parliamentary (EDM 1784)
The UK government is set to hand a contract worth £2bn to Elbit Systems UK, the UK subsidiary of Elbit, Israels biggest weapons manufacturer. The Army Collective Training Service (ACTS) contract will train 60,000 British soldiers annually for 15 years.
Elbit manufactures drones, artillery systems and surveillance technologies widely used by the Israel Defence Forces, these same weapons and systems are employed in the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
In July, a report by Francesca Albanese, the UN’s special rapporteur for Palestine, said that “for Israeli companies such as Elbit Systems… the ongoing genocide has been a profitable venture”.
It is morally unconscionable that the UK align itself with Elbit Systems UK, a firm directly implicated in war crimes against the Palestinian people, that has supplied weaponry used to kill 66,000 people, including 17,000 children.

You may wish to write along the lines of the sample letter below, which takes in the facts stated in the EDM motion text:
Dear [MP’s Name],
(Member of Parliament for [Your Constituency])
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing as a concerned constituent regarding Early Day Motion 1784, titled “Armed Forces Training Contract and Elbit Systems” which was tabled on 1st September 2025.
I am highly concerned to see the UK government consider awarding a £2billion training contract to Elbit Systems UK to train the British armed forces.
Elbit Systems UK are a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems who are the biggest suppliers of weaponry to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF). They are responsible for the production of drones, artillery systems and surveillance technologies widely used by the Israel Defence Forces; these same weapons and systems are employed in the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
A genocide committed by Israel, has killed 66,000 people, at least 17,000 of whom are children and the actual death toll may be much higher with a recent Lancet report estimating it to be 680,000.
It is morally unconscionable, highly damaging to the UK’s reputation and contrary to the UK’s obligations to international law that, as a nation we could align ourselves with an arms manufacturer engaged in a livestreamed genocide.
I therefore urge you, as my elected representative, to sign and support EDM 1784 and to push the Government to take meaningful action. This includes:
- Ending military cooperation and arms trade with Israel
- Halting the consideration of any UK military contract to Elbit Systems UK
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Your Full Name
EDM 1784
That this House is deeply concerned by reports that the Ministry of Defence is considering awarding a £2 billion, 15-year Army Collective Training Service contract to Elbit Systems UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems Limited, Israel’s largest arms manufacturer; notes that Elbit supplies 85 per cent of the drones used by the Israeli military, has been directly implicated in war crimes committed in Gaza, and was named in the July 2025 report of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories as central to Israel’s plausibly genocidal conduct; further notes warnings from parliamentarians, human rights organisations and legal experts that awarding this contract would entrench Elbit at the heart of the UK’s defence infrastructure, with serious reputational, legal and moral consequences; believes that proceeding with this deal would risk making the UK more complicit in war crimes being committed against the Palestinian people; and urges the Government to rule out awarding any UK defence contracts to Elbit Systems or its subsidiaries.
