ACTION ALERT Demand the removal of Judge Sebutinde from the ICJ
Judge Sebutinde, the Vice President of the ICJ, is ruling over the South Africa vs Israel case in which Israel stands accused of committing a genocide in Gaza.
In January 2024 the ICJ ruled it was plausible that Israel’s acts amounted to genocide and issued six provisional measures to prevent genocidal acts. Judge Sebutinde dissented against all provisional measures, the sole judge to do so. In May 2024 she opposed the court’s order to cease Israel’s offensive in Rafah.
At the Watoto church in Kampala on August 10th 2025, according to the Ugandan newspaper the Daily Monitor, she stated, “There are now about 30 countries against Israel… the Lord is counting on me to stand on the side of Israel. The whole world was against Israel, including my country.” And went to express her support for Israel as follows:
“The Lord relies on me to stand with Israel… signs of the end times are appearing in the Middle East, and I want to be on the right side of history… I am convinced that time is running out, and I encourage you to follow developments in Israel. I feel humbled that God has allowed me to be part of the last days.”
It is clear Judge Sebutinde has Christian Zionist beliefs that influences her judgements at the ICJ in favour of Israel. MPACUK has written to the ICJ to request she be removed from ruling on this case immediately.
