Subject: Complaint – Mislabeling of Products

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to raise concerns about misleading labels on the following products:

• Product one name
• Product two name

These items are being sold at:

• Shop 1
• Shop 2

The packaging falsely states “Produce of xxxx” (see attached photos), when in fact they originate from illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied West Bank. The UK government, UN, and EU consider these settlements unlawful, and mislabelling prevents consumers from making informed ethical choices.

Additionally, the product fails to display the manufacturer’s details, breaching FSA guidance on food packaging. Under the Food Labelling Regulations 1996 (5f), food must be correctly labelled if omission would mislead consumers about its origin. This mislabelling also violates:

1. The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, which prohibits false or misleading product information.
2. Government guidance on food labelling, requiring manufacturer/importer details to prevent deception.
3. DEFRA guidance, which states products from the Occupied Palestinian Territories must be labelled as “Produce of the West Bank (Israeli settlement produce)”—not as Israeli products or from xxxx.

These products deliberately obscure their true origin and lack required labelling, misleading consumers and potentially violating multiple regulations. I urge Trading Standards to investigate, ensure these products are removed, and take action against those responsible.
