Saudi Invests $75bn into Indian Oil Company Days After India’s Brutal Crackdown on Kashmir

Saudi agrees to the biggest historical foreign investment in India only days after Article 370 was revoked and began its clampdown on Kashmir.

Saudi state-owned oil company, Aramco, agreed to invest in a 20% stake in Indian oil company, Reliance Industries, as reported by the Financial Times.

The deal is valued to be around $75bn, which will be the largest foreign investments in India’s history.

Pakistanis took to twitter to voice their frustration and dismay.

“There is no brotherhood and No Religionism. Only Business Partners…!” one Pakistani wrote on Twitter.

“That’s pathetic! Brothers don’t backstab or join hands with the enemy. Shame on Saudi’s!” another said.

“That’s a painful reality. Only if Saudi Arabia may just have given a hint to reconsider this investment to India in the backdrop her treatment to Muslims and Kashmir,” said a disgruntled Pakistani Twitter user. “In case anyone was wondering about #Saudi silence on #Kashmir,” another user wrote.
