David Cameron has issued an apology to Shaykh Sulaiman Gani, the Muslim cleric he accused of supporting Islamic State in the House of Commons.

Although he has not completely apologised (only for any “misunderstanding”), and MPACUK are demanding a proper apology, this is still a success as the only Cameron has done this is because of the pressure that has piled on him for lying.

This follows an apology by Defence Secretary, Michael Fallon, who also repeated the same lie and is now facing legal action from the former imam.
